You may think that bathroom remodeling is the easiest part of house repair, but from my experience, it’s not – especially if you don’t hire an expert. It all started a few months ago, as I wanted to overhaul my bath. Since I’m no plumber or a carpenter, all my information about bath remodeling were taken from a few books and videos on the Internet. And of course, things went horribly wrong.

From purchasing materials – I bought too much grout, and the wrong size of pipes – to laying on the tiles, it was a comedy of errors. I couldn’t even control the tile cutter properly at first, and nearly injured myself. Whatever money that I may have saved from doing the granite remodeling on my own was wasted on trying to correct mistakes. And when I finished a small portion of the bathroom, I wasn’t too happy with the final result.

So I eventually copped out and hired a crew to complete the rest of the bathroom, and they finished the job in no time, with no injuries. The plumbing was connected properly, the granite tiles were neatly laid out, and they were even able to patch up my shoddy work. Had I done this sooner, I would have ended up initially paying more, but at least I would’ve just ended sipping a lemonade in the backyard, instead of having a life-and-death encounter with that tile cutter.

Now on to the next project – kitchen remodeling – and I’m surely going to hire professionals to do it instead.
